Patterning in the K/1 Classroom

Making patterns is one way Kindergartners and 1st Graders learn logic and reasoning. Patterning is an important portal into the world of mathematics. In fact, mathematicians like Keith Devlin argue that math is precisely the study of patterns. Devlin has written a fascinating book on this subject: Mathematics: The Science of Patterns.

Patterning is absorbing, mindful work and also a lot of fun.

Hope to see you at our Open House this Sunday, November 15!
