The Cambridge Science Festival (CSF) is an annual ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in New England, where attention is also paid to global impacts. Every spring, the Cambridge Science Festival makes science accessible, engaging, and fun for everyone through different events. We are thrilled that Birches has been accepted as a participant host site. Our all-ages STEAM event will take place on the Birches playground, Sunday April 24, 2016 from 1pm-4pm. (In conjunction, Birches students will begin a Pollinator Curriculum in late February or early March, depending on the weather, and student work will be highlighted at the festival.) The Birches CSF celebration will include: student posters related to chalk dust experiments, demonstrations on how to conduct your own garden survey, observational flowering plant drawings and plant anatomy dissections, a pollinator scavenger hunt, bee-related art projects, and more.
