Our Pollinator Meadow is Thriving!

In the spring of 2016, Birches students helped plant a Pollinator Meadow on land being conserved by the Lincoln Land Conservation Trust/Rural Land Foundation. Other Lincoln organizations joined in what became a town-wide collaboration. This summer, thanks to the watering efforts of many friends of the Pollinator Meadow, the plants grew and began attracting pollinators. This extraordinary photograph of a bumblebee coming to land on a flower was taken by Tom Gumbart, Lincoln Conservation Director and Earth Science Advisor to Birches School. Thank you, Tom!

School begins next Wednesday, August 31st. We hope you had a wonderful summer and we look forward to an exciting new year ahead. See you soon!
