School began on Wednesday, August 31, and, two days later, we had our first "Art Friday" at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. Every Friday, three groups of students from our multi-age classrooms walk through the woods to deCordova for art classes. We have a remarkable roster of guest artists lined up who will teach our students throughout the year in six-week sessions. The photograph above shows second and third graders gently examining a cast resin sculpture in the park. The photograph below shows fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in the Carriage House Studio that we rent every Friday. After their art class, the older students engage in a STEAM exploration. Today, they began designing a robot that could withstand a fiery environment like the one pictured on the screen.
